rough trade//booji boy high
rough trade in convent gardens is one of my favorite record stores on earth. its in the basement of a skate shop. the other one may be better but i have never been there (other favorite record stores vintage vinyl and record exchange in st.louis, turntable lab,a-1 and other music in nyc, and amoeba (( im banned from the LA store don't ask).
since american money is basically worth nothing in the UK, i have to starve myself to pick up whatever the new bomb 7 and 12s are.
i picked this one up in febuary. i only read like 3 or 4 blogs so it may have been beaten to death on the internet, if so just tell me and ill get rid of it asap. its a project called booji boy high from the dudes in hot chip. i dig this song, seems like they just made a few tracks one day and decided this was the best way to not have to deal with much red tape on actualy getting music out to people that want to hear it. kind of a different step, but in a wierder good way.

aw man. ever been to amoeba in san fran? that store kills hollywoods! you should hit up aron's records in hollywood the next time you're in those parts. i spent many a dollar in that place. amoeba san fran, i could be there for days looking for stuff. i hate music stores, they take all of my money. banned? haha, i'd love to hear that story.

well. the first time we ever went to LA to record with this guy named howard benson (another story)...we went to amoeba for the first time.. i nearly shit myself.... i decided there were a million records i wanted, but i only had like x amount of money..
i started switching the price tags... and then i got infiltrated... they took a poloroid of me. and told me to never come back... well like a year later i came back fools brough out the picture of me.. like is this you.. i put my tail between my legs and walked out...
yuea the SF one destroys it. and i thought aarons in LA closed...
damn. aron's closed? it might have, i have no idea. it's been years since i've been there. even more years since i've been to san fran amoeba. i miss those stores.
switching price tags haha. that's something i've always wanted to do. i'd not buy so many things because it was like $3 more than i wanted to spend even though it was still a good price. gotta get the most for the money, the best bargain. i just can't believe they called you out. most places don't seem the type to really give a crap after a year. should have been like "i can change!" as they dragged you out ;)
